BuckyCubes

BuckyCubes Magnetic Building CubesLast week I got to take a look at BuckyBalls, the magnetic spherical building toy.  Now I get to play with the new BuckyCubes.  The cubical magnetic building toy.   In the box you get 125 powerful rare earth magnets.

Stacking, building, counting, creating patterns.  Fiddling, twiddling, filling time.  And seeing which of your office cohorts can create the most interesting shapes and patterns.

Magnetic Attraction Nail Polish

I love it when I come across a product that makes me squeal.  This nail polish by Nails Inc. is infused with magnetic particles and when you apply it you hold a magnet over top of the paint, which pulls the iron particles towards the surface in a unique pattern.

So of course, I had to try it out.  And try it out I did.  (See photo, ignore broken pointer finger nail)  The color you are looking at in that photo is their Houses of Parliament, which is a metallic blue/purple that looks fantastic before you even bother it with the magnet.  Then, a little magnet magic and you get to see an amazing, unique, 3D effect that makes people Ooooh and Aaaah.

Science and style.  Win.

Available now at Sephora and www.sephora.com.

Perfect Portions Nutrition Scale

Perfect Portions Nutrition ScaleFoodies and nutrition junkies!

The Perfect Portions Nutrition Scale.  It works great for weighing out portions, getting the facts on exactly what you are putting into your body, and keeping score.

What I like about it?  A very clean and sleek scale that is easy to clean and simple to use.  It has a built in database of almost 2000 foods, all you need to do is place the food on the scale, input the food code and your good to go.

The keys are part of the scale plate, which is part of the easy to clean part.  No indents or grooves to work around.  It can hold up to 10lbs of food.

BuckyBalls

BuckyBalls Magnetic Building SpheresI’m a twiddler.  I twiddle my thumbs, I goof around, I have to fiddle with whatever is on my desk, and I tap.  I have to tap, I have to fiddle, I have to twiddle.  And it makes people around me crazy.

Buckyballs (the original) is a set of 216 magnetic building spheres.  Fun toy, but OFF LIMITS to children.  I say this because these tiny rare earth magnets are very powerful.  If swallowed or inhaled, they can and will rip through vital organs to get to the closest magnetic substance.

Now that I’m done with that bit.  *Cough*  These are impossible to put down.  I almost didn’t get to write this because I couldn’t stop playing with them.

Not good for compulsive counters.  Setting them in groups of 6, 12 and other numbers.  And then you have shape building, wall building, making random strands to see what you can get them to stick to.

Also: Incredibly difficult to put down while taking phone calls.
