Measure and Mix: Bizarrely cool spoon

Portion - Cooking Spoon w/ Measuring GroovesGifts for the foodie are hard to come by.  You want something that isn’t going to break the bank, but still be neat enough to invoke the “Wow Factor”.  Then again, if you want to get it for yourself, I can’t possibly blame you.

So what you get is a double duty tool that both measures and mixes your favorite dishes.  The handle is a cylinder that does liquid measurements from 1 tbs all the way up to 1/4 cup.  Then you move on to your dry goods in the spoon, which starts at 1 teaspoon and wriggles its way up to 2 tablespoons.  Sure, I’m not going to use it to measure the four cups of flour to make my giant batch of delicious cookies, but it is going to help me measure all of the rest of the yummy ingredients, and I can just give them a good stir.

The biggest thing I was worried about was the durability of this spoon, with two different pieces I expected the neck to break when I gave it a good stir in a stiff batter.  Thankfully, the pieces are made of thick plastic that takes quite a bit of “oomph!” to get it to break.  Unfortunately, no part of the spoon is heat resistant (oops!) so you don’t want to leave it on a hot stove, in a hot pan, or on the surface of the burning sun.
